How does the Hint option work?

The Hint button is located in the lower-right corner of the screen and is marked with a question mark icon. It provides assistance in stages. Using it the first time for a specific task gives you a general clue. Using it the second time for the same task provides more detailed guidance toward the solution. The third use for the same task fully solves it. Each hint requires coins, spent separately for each stage.
